Toronto, May 28, 2020: Skip has seen an 89% increase in restaurants joining the network to connect with customers in their area during these difficult times.
Skip has also extended its network capabilities to help restaurants diversify their menu, giving them the ability to add new items including alcoholic beverages (in BC, AB, MB, ON, and NB), produce packages, make-at-home food kits, household items and more. This has opened a new stream of revenue for many restaurants who have been forced to shut their front of house, and Skip customers are enjoying this added convenience:
- Over 7,500 cocktail and meal kits have been ordered from restaurants on the Skip network since March, as Canadians recreate their favourite restaurant and bar experiences while staying home.
- Skip users are skipping the grocery store lines, ordering over 5,300 produce boxes from their favourite local restaurants.
- As families juggle working from home and home schooling, orders of family-sized meals have seen a 10% increase since March.
- In the last month, British Columbia has ordered the most alcohol through Skip, followed by Alberta.
We understand that these are unprecedented times and Skip is committed to providing impactful support to our restaurant partners and community. They are continually adjusting their network in real time to best serve our stakeholders as they navigate the next phase of COVID-19 together.
