Mumbai, April 28, 2020: Irfan Khan has died at the age of 53 due to neuroendocrine tumor which was diagnosed in 2018.
Cameron Bailey, Artistic Director, TIFF on his twitter commented,”Each Irrfan Khan performance was music-full of soul, heart, wit and his own singular rhythm. And he was the loveliest man. Such an awful loss.”
Irfan Khan had acted in more than 100 films that included Slumdog Millionaire , Jurassic World, Life of Pi, and The Amazing Spider-Man.
He is survived by his wife Sutapa Sikdar and two sons.
The Academy on official twitter “A mainstay of Bollywood Cinema and incredible talent in films like ” Slumdog Millionair,” “Life of Pi” and “The Namesake,” Irrfan Khan left his impritn on global cinema. An inspiration to millions, he will greatly missed.
