Before Mystery Eats, there was Madras Kaapi, a love letter to South India’s filter coffee culture. Launched in 2016 as Canada’s first South Indian coffee startup, it quickly became a hub for Toronto’s South Asian diaspora. By 2021, the brand expanded into a stunning brick-and-mortar cafe that oozed nostalgia and charm. Today, Madras Kaapi continues to delight customers through its online store and B2B operations, cementing its legacy as a trailblazer in Toronto’s coffee culture.

“One of the coolest things about Mystery Eats is that our events always sell out within hours,” she reveals. “The anticipation, the camaraderie of strangers coming together, and the laughter echoing as the night unfolds—it’s pure magic.”
