(TORONTO) October 21st, 2024 – Righteous Alliance Entertainment (RAE) and F&M Productions are excited to announce that Canadian production FINCH & MIDLAND has secured Canadian distribution through Equinoxe Films. The highly anticipated project recently wrapped filming in the GTA and is now set for global audiences, with Equinoxe Films also overseeing international sales.
President of Equinoxe Films, Michael Mosca, shared his enthusiasm for bringing this unique story to both Canadian and international audiences;

With a distinctly Canadian voice and featuring a predominantly diverse Asian cast, FINCH & MIDLAND stands out as one of the few Canadian productions to tell such an intimate and authentic immigrant story. The film, written and directed by Timothy Yeung, is inspired by the lives of Hong Kong immigrants who came to Canada in the mid 90s to settle in the Finch and Midland area of Toronto. An anthology, FINCH & MIDLAND tackles themes of survival, identity, and community through their individual struggles and shared hope.

Executive produced by Ridley Tsui and Annie Lee, and produced by Kim Yu, the film’s talented cast includes a mix of celebrated Hong Kong stars and Canadian actors, including Anthony Wong Chau Sang (The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Infernal Affairs, Hard Boiled), Nina Paw Hee Ching (The Way We Are, Lost in Time), Patrick Tam (Fight for Tomorrow, Beast Cops), Harriet Yeung Tze Man (The Sparring Partner, Port of Call) and former Miss Hong Kong finalist, Theresa Lee (Condor Heroes, The Legendary Siblings), as well as Canadian actor Dmitry Chepovetsky (Children Ruin Everything, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol).
Producer Kim Yu was moved by the script, “FINCH & MIDLAND will hopefully resonate with many people as its themes are universal.
