Forthspace Hospitality announces opening of newest restaurant in downtown Toronto

MARKED is set to open September 2020 and promises to deliver a vibrant South American dining experience – capturing the unique flavours and spirit of the world class culture
TORONTO, ON – MARKED, a vibrant love letter to the culture, flavours, and spirit of South America is set to open its doors next month in the heart of Toronto. Located at 132 John Street, the sprawling 10,000 square-foot space is the latest venture from Forthspace Hospitality following the hugely successful launches of the brand’s à toi and Coffee Oysters Champagne in 2018.Beyond the handcraft cocktails and curated wine list, the food program will be the soul of the restaurant. With a unique grilling approach, MARKED is committed to sourcing sustainable ingredients, cooked over natural heat to ensure the true essence of each flavour is perfectly represented. Guests will enjoy locally procured meats, seafood, and seasonal produce inspired by South American flavours, along with distinctive tastes that only a wood charcoal grill could welcome.

Designed by award-winning Navigate Design, MARKED boasts four unique, but cohesive spaces under one roof, providing guests with an abundance of new journeys each time they visit.

PAN-AM LOUNGE
The front bar lounge and patio is defined by a vibrant and distinct 1950s Pan American theme, featuring a fun and approachable sports bar and airy patio. From boozy slushies and carbonated bottle cocktails, to a beer list and house-made ingredient cocktails, cravings will be truly satisfied.

COMEDOR

Head to the vintage 1950s South American travel art-inspired dining room, providing an elevated, yet casual experience. Servers will guide guests through the various menu journeys, from tapas style to strictly seafood, vegetarian dining, or a full meat centric meal. Servers will suggest dishes and quantities that fit the table effortlessly.

TUCANO
The versatile private dining space includes a glass-enclosed seating area and elevated space, which is customizable and designed to cater to larger parties or intimate gatherings. The stunning room offers guests an exclusive area without being separated from the rest of the venue.
CORSAIR
Located beyond the dining room, this modern cocktail bar pays homage to the opulent bars of 1950s South America, with a reverence for tradition and a passion for flavour. Its one-of-a-kind cocktail bar experience uses methods and techniques rarely seen in Canada, making it the jewel of MARKED.
