With The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition
Nutcracker Local Participant Auditions in Ottawa on Oct 19
Ottawa, Ontario, October 1, 2019: Canada’s Ballet Jörgen brings back The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition, which has become a holiday favourite for Ottawa and area families, to Shenkman Arts Centre on December 11 and 12 for three shows at 7 pm, 1:30 pm, and again at 7 pm; and to Meridian Centrepointe for two shows on December 14 at 1 pm and 4:30 pm.
As is the long-standing tradition, local participants can try out for roles in the production. Nutcracker local participant auditions take place at the Nepean Creative Arts Centre (35 Stafford Road, Bells Corners) in Studio #2 on October 19 from 12:15 pm to 4:45 pm. Rehearsals begin the same day at the School of Dance (200 Crichton St., Ottawa) through November into December to prepare budding dancers for the stage alongside the company’s professionals.

Audition registration is open until Friday, October 18 at 5 pm. If your son or daughter is at least 8 years old, then perhaps this adventure is for them!
