TORONTO – The highly anticipated boutique hotel, The Postmark Hotel, located in a former Newmarket post office at 180 Main St., has been reimagined as a community hub and gathering place by Archive Hospitality Group, the group behind Toronto’s Gladstone House and The Broadview Hotel.

The Postmark Hotel, originally built as a post office in 1914, has been masterfully restored into a colourful boutique hotel offering locals and travelers a charming space to dine, stay, and celebrate. The hotel’s lobby, with high ceilings, a cozy fireplace, and collection of original artworks adorning its walls, provides the perfect ambiance for guests to relax and unwind. The first level features a fitness facility, a lounge and The Lobby, where locals and guests can grab a coffee to go or wind down over cocktails with friends.

The Postmark Hotel Lobby

Spanning three floors, The Postmark hotel offers 55 uniquely designed guestrooms in a variety of sizes and styles, catered to every traveler’s needs. From cozy spaces to suites with soaring ceilings, walkout terraces, living rooms, and kitchenettes, each guestroom has its own distinct personality and charm. The carefully curated Canadian artworks in each room add a warm and inviting atmosphere, enhanced by luxurious French bedding, modern decor, and high-speed internet. Guests can also indulge in locally crafted organic toiletries by Consonant Skin+Care and other carefully curated amenities, promising a luxurious and comfortable stay, whether brief or extended.

“The Postmark Hotel has always been something special, ever since its inception as a post office in 1914,” said Avi Wulfand, general manager of The Postmark Hotel. “We are thrilled to bring to life this community hub in the heart of Newmarket.”

The property features four versatile event spaces designed to accommodate any occasion. The private dining room is the perfect setting for a smaller luncheon or gathering, while the larger dedicated event space offers floor-to-ceiling skyline views, a wraparound terrace, and delicious catering with an exciting cocktail program. Ideal for celebrations of 20 to 200 guests, these adaptable spaces offer an excellent backdrop for weddings, family reunions, holiday parties, birthdays, or gatherings with friends.

The Postmark Overlea Rooftop Restaurant

Within the walls of the hotel are two highly anticipated restaurants, helmed by Executive Chef Jon Turner. With a focus on farm to table, the new Canadian inspired menus use locally sourced, seasonal ingredients to create an authentic dining experience. On the main floor, The Lobby operates as both a café and bar, providing a range of options from breakfast through dinner.

The menu features reimagined classics and standout dishes like Yellowfin Tuna Crudo, Fogo Island Shrimp Rolls, and their unique take on the Smashburger. The striking rooftop restaurant, Overlea, opening on August 9, offers brunch and dinner with unparalleled city views.

Its menu includes distinctive dishes such as Seared Venison Carpaccio with black walnut, sorrel, smoked salt, and urfa peppers, as well as Ontario Sweet Corn and Ricotta Stuffed Cappelletti. Brunch offerings include Sour Cherry Pancakes and Montreal Smoked Meat Benedict. Each restaurant provides a unique experience and can be booked for private events.

The Postmark Hotel’s Deluxe King Room

The Postmark Hotel is committed to offering a robust art program that showcases local and regional talent. Guest rooms and communal spaces feature original artwork selected by Lee Petrie, curator at Archive Hospitality. The first iteration of the program includes an oversized floral still life photograph by Kristin Sjaarda, a lace-inspired mirror sculpture by Lizz Aston, Moira Ness’s cheeky question “am I flirting with you?”, a painting that captures the beauty of transit architecture by Diogo Pinheiro and a 6-foot diameter layered acrylic disc by Kal Mansur.
