The 29th edition of the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival (Reel Asian) will take place from November 5 to 15, 2025, with additional online programming available across Canada from November 10 to 23.
As Canada’s largest pan-Asian film festival, Reel Asian showcases a diverse selection of contemporary Asian cinema, featuring over 50 films from Canada and around the world. Highlights this year include the opening night film Space Cadet, an animated adaptation by Kid Koala, and the Centrepiece Gala presentation Akashi, a poignant exploration of identity and grief. The festival also offers family-friendly shorts through the Wee Asian program and professional development opportunities with the Reel Ideas industry stream.
In addition to screenings, Reel Asian is hosting the IMAA Mini-Conference from November 11 to 13 at 401 Richmond Street West. This event, in partnership with the Independent Media Arts Alliance (IMAA), provides artists and industry professionals with workshops, discussions, and access to both in-person and digital festival programming. Registration for the mini-conference is free, with full digital access included for all participants.
Tickets and further festival information are available at Reel Asian’s official website
