The First Sale: From an Idea to a Wardrobe Staple
“The story behind our first sale was surreal,” Raunaq recalls with a nostalgic grin. It all began with an Instagram post that caught the attention of a streetwear enthusiast. The customer was drawn to No Safety’s bold vibe and snatched up one of their signature paisley hoodies. “Seeing someone rocking that hoodie in Toronto for the first time—it was a moment of pure pride,” he shares. It wasn’t just a sale; it was proof that No Safety had transcended from being just a concept to becoming a part of someone’s daily life.
Standing Out in Toronto’s Style Melting Pot
Toronto’s eclectic style scene is both a blessing and a challenge for a brand like No Safety. “The city’s diversity is a huge inspiration,” Raunaq explains. “It pushes us to create for risk-takers who want to stand out.” His secret to staying fresh? Bold designs, limited drops, and storytelling that resonates. From intricate paisley prints to collections that scream authenticity, No Safety is all about embracing individuality in a city that thrives on diversity.
Dream Collab: Drake x No Safety?
When asked about a dream collaboration, Raunaq doesn’t hesitate. “It would have to be Drake,” he says. The global icon represents Toronto’s culture and aligns perfectly with No Safety’s vision. “Drake puts the city on the map, and we’re trying to do the same for bold streetwear. A collab with him would be next level.”
Challenges: Fashion with ‘No Safety Net’
Running a clothing brand in Toronto is no walk in the park, especially when you’re starting from scratch. “The biggest curveball has been breaking into the market,” Raunaq admits. With a competitive and tight-knit fashion scene, getting noticed required creative strategies. “We stayed true to our vision, leveraged social media, and collaborated with influencers through barter deals. Consignment partnerships with local stores like Hotbox helped too.” It’s this blend of hustle and creativity that has kept No Safety moving forward.
The No Safety Vibe: Queen West Energy
If No Safety were a Toronto neighborhood, Raunaq knows exactly where it would fit: Queen West. “It’s edgy, creative, and unapologetically bold—just like us,” he says. The neighborhood’s raw yet stylish energy mirrors the brand’s essence. “It’s inclusive but always challenges the norm. That’s what No Safety is all about.”
As Raunaq Singh continues to grow No Safety, one thing is clear: this isn’t just another clothing brand—it’s a movement. With each bold design and fearless decision, he’s weaving Toronto’s unique style into the fabric of No Safety, proving that taking risks can lead to something extraordinary.
