Gareth Roberts, owner of a Toronto JUSTJUNK franchise, and realtor Mark Arnstein of North Toronto Living, made a donation of $3,000 to the food bank Friday, in lieu of an annual charity pumpkin give-away they typically organize at this time of year.

Gareth and Mark are encouraging others to consider supporting the food bank since all donations are being matched by The Schulich Foundation until the end of November.

“With the funds they get from our donation, North York Harvest Food Bank is able to purchase five times the amount of food we could give them if we’d purchased groceries from the store,” says Gareth. “Since we couldn’t provide our usual pumpkin giveaway with North Toronto Living in 2020, it made sense to donate the funds that would go towards that to the North York Harvest Food Bank. When we asked them what would be best, they told us that a cash donation would go so much farther in helping them with those in need.”
