Silverstein’s love for baseball began as a child in Thornhill, sparked by a family trip to Cooperstown, New York, and cemented by the 1992–1993 championships. Despite losing vision in his left eye at 13, he continued to play high-level baseball, winning two championships with Brock University and earning accolades as Ontario Baseball Coach of the Year and Baseball Canada Coach of the Year in 2024. A brain cancer survivor, Silverstein’s journey embodies grit and resilience.
