National Public Service Awareness Organization in Partnership with Mann Casting and eBOSS Canada Proudly Present The First Canadian Isolation Short Film Festival
TORONTO, April 16, 2020 /CNW/ – Stay At Home Heroes in partnership with Mann Casting and eBOSS Canada, supported by ACTRA Toronto are proud to present the first (and hopefully last) Canadian Isolation Short Film Festival. The inaugural festival encourages all Canadians to submit a short “at-home” video as an expression of their own experiences in isolation during the COVID-19 crisis.
The platform invites any Canadian citizen to shoot a short film (3 minutes maximum) on a tablet or smart-phone and submit it by May 6th, 2020. The entries will then go to a panel of esteemed judges who will choose a winner which will be announced at a live-streamed event on May 9th, 2020.
“As a seasoned Casting Director who has worked in the film industry for 25 years it is important to me to provide an inclusive and simple platform for not only the film industry, but all Canadians to use the tools they have at home as an outlet to help with creative expression at this unique time in history,” said Steven Mann, Casting Director and Founder of Mann Casting.
“ACTRA Toronto is proud to support the Isolation Short Film Festival. We may be isolated in our homes but we are staying connected, inspiring creativity and hope. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay home. Stay connected,” said Theresa Tova, President, ACTRA Toronto.
“We’re excited to expand our Stay At Home Heroes campaign with the addition of the Isolation Short Film Festival in partnership with Mann Casting and eBOSS Canada. Our initiatives are a perfect synergy and reinforce our current mission, which, through the power of creative and informative content, is helping to support Canadians to stay safe, healthy and happy at home,” said Jessica Martins, Director, Stay at Home Heroes, and Founder of Hero Artists.
Martins went on to say: “The Isolation Short Film Festival is a natural extension of our brand as it provides a creative outlet to the film industry, artists, and all Canadians who are looking to come together and support one another at this challenging time through powerful content and artistic expression.”
The Isolation Short Film Festival has already collected a number of submissions to date and looks forward to hundreds more. For more information, or to submit your short film visit: http://isff.stayathomeheroes.com/
