Little Canada is officially rebranding as Pocket Planet Canada following its acquisition by UK-based entertainment company Pocket Planet earlier this year. The change is designed to transform the popular miniature attraction into a more interactive entertainment destination while maintaining the detailed Canadian landscapes and storytelling that made Little Canada popular with visitors.

Located at 10 Dundas St. E. in downtown Toronto, the attraction first opened in 2021 after being founded by Jean-Louis Brenninkmeijer in 2011. Brenninkmeijer and his team of model makers will continue supporting the attraction through the newly established Miniature Makers Inc.

More Interactive Experiences Are Coming

The name isn’t the only thing changing. Pocket Planet Canada plans to introduce new interactive technology throughout the attraction, including touchscreen experiences that allow guests to control elements of its miniature environments.

One of the first lets visitors interact with the miniature Rogers Centre, opening and closing its famous dome and changing its lighting. According to the company, another 16 touchscreen controls are expected to be introduced throughout the attraction.

The upgrades are part of Pocket Planet’s ambition to evolve the attraction beyond a traditional miniature exhibit into a broader immersive entertainment experience.

“We are thrilled to bring the Pocket Planet vision to Toronto,” said Mark Vlassopulos, founder of Pocket Planet, adding that the company plans to combine Little Canada’s craftsmanship with new technology.

A Miniature Airport Is Coming in 2027

Perhaps the biggest announcement is still to come. Pocket Planet Canada is developing a miniature airport, described by the company as its most ambitious project yet. The installation is expected to debut in Toronto in 2027 and eventually become a signature feature of Pocket Planet attractions internationally. The company is also seeking sponsorship and strategic partnerships as development of the project gets underway.
